Central State University’s graduating seniors are preparing for the annual senior salute in the Student Center March 1, 2019.
“For seniors, it’s a big deal because it is the first time they get to take pictures in their caps and gowns, so it’s only right to look your absolute best,” said Tamara Richardson, president of the Student Government Assocation.
Up to 200 students are expected to participate in the Salute, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students will complete their graduation paperwork, pick up their caps and gowns, and pose for their official portraits.
“All graduating seniors are encouraged to come to Senior Salute, because it shows we are one step closer to achieving our goals” student Marchea Wiley said.
In years past, a number of graduating seniors have skipped Senior Salute. As a result, they fell behind in the graduation process. Most students, however, attend the salute. It is a major milestone in their college experience.
“Senior Salute will be my final snapshot of my growth here at Central,”
student Nicolas Nwarche said. “I am not the same person I was when I first arrived.”
