Battle of the Bands in Cleveland

Updated: Dec 2, 2019

The Central State University Invincible Marching Marauders participated in the 20th Annual Battle of the Bands showcase in Cleveland Oct. 5, 2019.

”Going to Cleveland, my home town, was so wonderful,” Band Member Cierra Knott said. “Not only did I get a chance to go home, but I had the chance to showcase my talent and show how the IMM can really get down.”

The Battle of the Bands featured five marching bands, including two university bands and three high school bands. Each band performed a seven minute show with three songs. However, the IMM performed a longer set of six songs. Bands performed at Euclid High School inside a packed gymnasium.

The university also performed at a Battle of the Bands earlier this year in Alabama. The band participates in these events as a way of showcasing its talent and recruiting new members. Knott saw the IMM perform at a showcase in Cleveland when she was a student at Winton Woods High School.
